Heronshaw can show stamina and class at Chepstow

Chepstow 2:40 – Heronshaw
Heronshaw made a winning debut for Henry Daly in a Uttoxeter bumper last November. The trip looked plenty sharp enough for him that day, but he stayed on well in the heavy conditions to win going away by just over 2 lengths. He followed this up with a victory first time over hurdles at Ludlow, where again he was outpaced around this sharp track before staying on very well after the last hurdle to catch the very useful Sausalito Sunrise on the line. This trip was 21 furlongs but around Ludlow, he was struggling for most of the way before his stamina kicked in.
Last time out Heronshaw unseated when struggling at Warwick, but a drop of 2 furlongs in distance was never going to suit, so the run is best forgiven. He is by Heron Island out of a Glacial Storm mare and there is an abundance of stamina in his pedigree. He gets his chance to finally run under conditions which will place a premium on stamina when he tackles this 3mile hurdle on heavy ground at Chepstow. His rating of 118 looks fair on first inspection but with the promise of much more to come as he steps up in distance, he appeals as a well handicapped horse.
This is a competitive race with useful prospects such as Minellahalfcentury and Woodford County in opposition. However with Henry Daly’s horses running very well at the moment (3 winners from last 6 runners), Heronshaw looks a very nice price at 7/1 each way with
Boylesports.
